So you’ve got a project in mind, now you’re down to the most important stage of planning your project… Who will you choose to build it? This can be a very difficult decision to make, but luckily we have boiled it down to 6 key traits you should look for in your builder.
Firstly, do they have the experience they claim to have? A lot of builders talk a big game, but when potential clients actually do some research on them, they’re alarmed to find out that the builder has only worked on a handful of projects over the past few years.
Secondly, is the quality of work up to the highest standard possible? Browse through their projects on social media and or on their website, and see if they produce quality work, on a consistent basis.
It’s also really important that you get along well with your builder, as the renovation process can sometimes be stressful and you may get annoyed by seeing someone you don't get along with on a frequent basis.
Make sure that the builder has all the right qualifications and licenses. Builders are legally required to display information such as their QBCC number on their website - this is usually toward the bottom section of their website.
What do their clients say about them? If they don’t have plenty of raving reviews, then it can be really hard to trust the builder to complete the job to a high standard. Make sure you read through these reviews and see what others say about their experience. This is super important, as you don’t want to have a bad experience with a poor performing builder.
Are they passionate about what they do? The last person you want working on your site is a builder that doesn’t care about the project in the slightest. You want to work with a builder that has a team of staff that are all dedicated and focussed on building your dream home to the highest possible standard of quality.
